Today I am working on the Layering classes from Altenew. Here is my first homework assignment:
The first class was using a signal layer stamp. I used the Spring Daisy, it is stamped in Altenew Plum, Dark Night, and Yellow Ochre Crisp Dye Ink. The leaves I used the Altenew Artist Marker G554 & G935.t I colored on the stamps with the markers, as I didn’t have any Altenew green inks. I think the leaves turned out fine. The paper is from Stampin’ Up!, Blackberry Bliss & Crushed Curry. The fussy cut the flower and leaves out and the die used in the background is from Tim Holtz. I hope you will follow along in my journey to get Altenew Certified.
I picked an image from My Besties, Slinky Besties. I colored her with Arteza water color pencils and gamsol to blend with. I use a new slim die from Rubbernecker Slimline Deckle Die to cut her out. The words are from Sweet n Sassy Stamps, God is Bigger. I hope you will join us and play along, I would love to see what you create. Yes I am using gnomes again!! I think they are so cute and fun to color. I did a fun technique not sure the name of it, but I punched out some daisies and glued them to the blue square, then I put the blue square inside an embossing folder and ran it thru my big shot a couple of times.
I colored the gnome with my Schpirerr Farben color pencils, she is from the Chillin’ Gnomes set at Simon Says Stamps!. Cardstock I used is from MFT Limelight, Coral Crush, Cornflower, and Pineapple. I used the Medium Daisy punch and Dainty Diamonds embossing folder from Stamping’ Up!. I am having a lot of fun doing these challenges, it is getting me to use things in a new way.
It’s Wednesday already, which means it is time for a new sketch at Paper Craft Crew.
This my take on the sketch:
I used the Stitch Mod Sq Stax from MFT, to create the tear drop like shapes. The butterfly is Begin Again from Sweet n Sassy Stamps. The ink used is picked raspberry Distress Oxide and the gold on the butterfly is wink of stella.
I hope you have fun with this sketch! If you need more inspiration, click HERE to see what the rest of the Design Team has created and then join us. Can’t wait to see what you do with this!
